Three Palestinians, settler hurt in brawl in southern West Bank

Three Palestinians and a settler on Wednesday were lightly injured in an exchange of rock throwing near the southern West Bank outpost of Gilad Farm.

The brawl broke out after the Palestinian farmers came to harvest olive trees in a grove near Gilad Farm, without requesting to be escorted by the Israel Defense Force.

The procedure of providing the farmers with a military escort has been put in place after they suffered from violent harassment by the settlers living in the outpost.

Police arrived at the scene and ended the fray.

The Gilad Farm outpost was built in 2003 on a land settlers say is owned by lands dealer Moshe Zar, whose son, Gilad, was killed by Palestinians. The outpost comprises of ten constructions and a shed.

The Sasson Report on land ownership in the West Bank, however, says the outpost is built on a land owned by the nearby Palestinian village of Farata.
