Both Shas and the Pensioners' Party filed official complaints Wednesday with the chief Knesset security officer, claiming false beeper messages were sent to reporters in their name.

The beeper messages, which were sent by sources claiming to be by the parties' representatives, read that the parties have decided to support MK Reuven Rivlin's candidacy for president.

Shas' spokesman, Roi Lachmanovitch, said the message that was sent in his name was "fabricated and false."

Lachmanovitch maintains that Shas Chairman Eli Yishai has not decided which presidential candidate Shas will support.

The Pensioners' Party spokeswoman, Hagit Harel, also said she did not send any statement regarding her party's support for a specific candidate for president.
