By Ruth Sinai, Haaretz Correspondent

The government on Sunday approved the establishment of two new ministerial panels to organize pensions and to advance the implementation of a manpower companies law.

Defense Minister Amir Peretz will head the two panels.

In accordance with coalition agreements, these subjects were to have been debated by professional committees. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Peretz transferred the debates to the new ministerial committees in order emphasize their dedication to the social welfare issues, according to their spokespeople.

The pension committee will examine the influences of all the financial arrangements currently in place and will propose a plan to implement the law dictating pensions for every citizen.

The committee will be aided by experts from government ministries.

Over the past several years, a number of reports have been submitted with a number of recommendations and proposals for enforcing the pension law.
