Police detain five suspects in Kafr Qasem drive-by murder
By Roni Zinger-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent, and Haaretz Service

Police have detained five men suspected of involvement in the murder of an Umm al-Fahm resident in Kfar Qasem on Tuesday.

The victim, Nimr Hariri, 31, is a member of the Hariri family, suspected by police as being involved in criminal activities.

Around 4 P.M. Tuesday, police received a report of shooting in a parking lot in Kafr Qasem. Police units from the Sharon region arrived on the scene and found the victim, Nimar Hariri, 31, unresponsive with several bullet wounds. Hariri was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

A friend of the victim, a resident of Kafr Qana, was moderately wounded in the shooting as well.

An initial police investigation determined that anonymous perpetrators arrived on the scene in a car, opened fire at Hariri from their vehicle and fled.

The Hariri family has been involved in a long running feud with the Abed Al-Qadr family in Taibeh. The feud is believed to have claimed 21 lives, including Yihye Hariri, head of the Hariri family, who was shot and killed two years ago in Taibeh.
