MDA: Youth in several cities stoned ambulances operating on Yom Kippur

Youth in Jerusalem, Kiryat Motzkin, Netanya, and Ashkelon threw stones Monday at Magen David Adom Emergency Medical Service ambulances operating on Yom Kippur, MDA officials said.

According to MDA, 1,779 people were evacuated to hospitals throughout the country during the Yom Kippur holiday. 65 people fainted and required medical attention as a result of fasting, of which 12 required emergency life-saving measures.

During the 25-hour fast, 98 women were taken to hospital to give birth. 23 people were injured in 22 car accidents throughout the country.

In addition, 195 children required medical attention after being injured during the holiday in biking, skateboarding, roller-skating and roller-blading accidents, according to MDA.
