Ben-Eliezer: Israel should kill Nasrallah at first opportunity

Infrastructure Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said on Saturday Israel should assassinate Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah when an opportunity arises, but to do so without causing many casualties among bystanders.

"Nasrallah's life is forfeit," Ben-Eliezer told Army Radio. "He's bad for the Jews, he's bad for the Arabs, he's bad for the Christians. We should wait for the right opportunity and not leave him alive."

Nasrallah made his first public appearance last week to address a massive Hezbollah "divine victory" rally in Beirut, despite speculation that Israel might try to assassinate him.

But Ben-Eliezer said he would have opposed such a move.

"Yes, we should eliminate him. But we have to make sure that thousands of people aren't vulnerable (to injury)," he said.

Nasrallah's predecessor, Abbas Musawi, was assassinated in an IAF helicopter air strike in 1992.
