Reservists slam Lebanon war probe for soft approach
By Nir Hasson, Haaretz Correspondent

IDF reservists on Thursday slammed the committee commissioned to investigate the government's handling of the Lebanon war for taking a soft approach.

The Winograd Committee was criticized for comments made by sources calling the "introductory meetings" it held with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz as "positive."

"Committee members saying that the meeting was positive and informal proves that the committee members know their real job: This is no longer an inquiry committee but a cover-up committee in Olmert's service," a spokesperson for the group said.

Headed by former Judge Eliyahu Winograd, the committee was appointed by Ehud Olmert and will hand over its finds to the Prime Minister's Office.
