Billionaire Warren Buffet lands in Israel for 36-hour visit
By Ora Koren, Haaretz Correspondent

Billionaire businessman Warren Buffet on Sunday landed in Israel for a lightening tour of the country.

During his 36-hour stay he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and visit the premises of Iscar, the Israeli high tech company he purchased in a $4 billion deal.

Iscar's founder and chairman, Eitan Wertheimer, will accompany the business tycoon on his visit. They are scheduled to visit the biotechnological center at Haifa's Rambam hospital together.

Buffet will also speak to some 300 businessmen and economists, including the industry, trade and labor minister MK Eli Yishai, at a banquet at the King David hotel in Jerusalem.

During the Lebanon war, Buffet said he considered the Galilee-based Iscar to be a good investment despite coming under fire of rockets launched by Hezbollah.
