Police question ex-Katsav employee on earlier rape testimony
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

Police have been questioning all day Tuesday A., former office manager of President Moshe Katsav, on her rape allegations against the president. Detectives have asked A. to answer to Katsav's denials of ever having had sexual relations with her.

A. on Tuesday was seen entering the headquarters of the Police Financial Crime Unit in Lod, where the special team investigating the Katsav affair is based.

Detectives have questioned her throughout the day, in order to complete the investigation of her allegations that she had been forced to have sex with Katsav while she was manager of his office.

As far as Haaretz could establish, A. was required to answer to the same questions presented to her at the initial interrogation some two months ago.

Now that the investigation of the rape allegations is nearing completion, it is believed that police will turn to investigate additional allegations made by A.. Those pertain to alleged irregularities in the granting of presidential pardons by Katsav.

As published by Haaretz two months ago, several of the president's cronies allegedly had access to the pardon files kept in the President's Residence archives. It was also said in the report that those cronies made sure that certain files would be brought for review by Katsav's office.
