Israel Defense Forces soldiers on Tuesday foiled an attempt by two Palestinians to infiltrate Israel from the central Gaza Strip.

Troops noticed the Palestinians trying to slip through the security fences and detained them for questioning.

On Friday, a knife-wielding Palestinian terrorist infiltrated a settlement south of Hebron and was killed on the spot by residents before he could carry out an attack.

The infiltrator entered the Beit Haggai settlement in the early morning with a knife and tried to stab several residents before he was confronted by an armed resident and shot, according to the rescue service.

The military said one Israeli suffered a light stab wound.
