Vatican official to rededicate menorah honoring Holocaust victims
By The Associated Press

The Vatican's top liaison to Jews is helping rededicate a menorah in memory of Holocaust victims.

Cardinal Walter Kasper was expected to attend the ceremony Wednesday at the Boston Archdiocese's offices in suburban Braintree.

The menorah was originally dedicated in 2002. But the archdiocese has since sold its Boston campus, and is moving the menorah to its new suburban headquarters.

Kasper's visit comes amid repercussions from a Vatican decision to lift the excommunication of Holocaust denier Bishop Richard Williamson. Pope Benedict XVI has acknowledged it was mistake to not research Williamson more before allowing him to return, and said the Vatican was unaware of his statements.

Kasper called Williamson's comments denying the Holocaust unacceptable and stupid.
