Israeli air and naval forces attacked some 30 targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday morning, Palestinian officials said, killing at least 10 people across the Hamas-ruled coastal territory.

Residents of Gaza City said that Israel Air Force warplanes dropped bombs on the outskirts of the city and other Gazans reported shelling by the Israel Navy.

In the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, medics said tanks shelled a house, killing seven Palestinians from the same family, including an infant.

A Ukrainian woman and her 2-year-old son were also killed by an Israel Defense Forces' tank shell in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical officials said.

The woman, married to a Palestinian doctor who trained in Ukraine and returned with her to Gaza, was the first foreign national to die
since Israel began its offensive on the Hamas-ruled coastal territory 13 days ago.

Dr. Moaiya Hassanain of the Gaza Health Ministry identified the woman as Olvera Al-Jarou. She and her son were identified Friday morning.

Several hundred foreign nationals were allowed out of Gaza after fighting
broke out December 27. Some 760 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza health officials.

Meanwhile, militants in Gaza launched over a dozen rockets at southern Israel by 9 A.M., lightly wounding one person.

The United Nations late Thursday passed a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. The resolution was passed with a majority vote. The United States abstained from voting, with its eye on an Egyptian truce initiative, but said it supported the objectives of the UN draft.
