Israel to present complaint to UN over Lebanon rocket fire
By Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: UN, Lebanon, Hezbollah

Israel will present a formal complaint to the United Nations on rocket fire from Lebanon, after the Lebanese terrorist organization fired two Katyusha rockets at Israel Thursday, that struck the northern of Nahariya.

The Foreign Ministry has informed Israel's ambassador to the UN Professor Gabriella Shalev to write a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon highlighting how UN resolution 1701 is not being implemented.

The letter highlights how the rocket fire represents a blatant violation of UN 1701 and how Israel has a responsibility to ensure the safety of its citizens from "radical terror groups."

The letter also states that combating arms smuggling both in Lebanon and along the border with Gaza helps ensure regional stability.
