Soccer / Haddad refuses to join AEP Paphos
By Aviad Segal

French-born midfielder Rudy Haddad, who made aliyah to Israel in 2007 and joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, told his team that he refuses to be loaned out to Cypriot team AEP Paphos for the rest of the season.

Haddad told Maccabi management that there was "nothing of interest" for him in the nearby island country and that there was "no way" he would agree to the transfer.

Maccabi Tel Aviv had previously told Haddad they were disappointed in the 23-year-old player's form this season and that they would not include him in the team roster if he thwarts the transfer.

Meanwhile, Haddad's compatriot and teammate at Maccabi, Yannic Kamanan, is also expected to transfer to Paphos. Maccabi Tel Aviv management said the French player is not expected to resist the move but his agent said he would "by no means" move to a little club in Cyprus. Maccabi Tel Aviv will receive $80,000 if Kamanan agrees.
