Israelis warned: Goa is a no-go By Barak Ravid The Counter Terrorism Bureau in the Prime Minister's Office yesterday issued a travel advisory warning Israelis against traveling to India's Goa region during the end-of-year holiday season. The statement said the terror threat inside India is "concrete and very high." The travel advisory was not based on new intelligence, but rather in the wake of an assessment of the terror threat surrounding New Year's celebrations in India. The statement referenced "the terror attacks in Mumbai and the current threat picture in the country." Six Jews and Israelis were killed earlier this month when Mumbai's Chabad House was attacked by terrorists. Advertisement The statement said the Counter Terrorism Bureau "recommends that Israelis postpone visits to the Goa region in the second half of December," and cited the "particularly tempting target for Islamic terrorist organizations" posed by Goa, "especially in light of the New Year's parties and events." Large numbers of Israelis visit Goa throughout the year, but the numbers rise around the New Year holiday.
