The parents of abducted Israel Defense FOrces soldier Gilad Shalit are reportedly working with private investigators in an attempt to acquire information about the fate of their son, who was abducted by Palestinian militants two and a half years ago on the Gaza Strip border.

The Shalit family has regularly expressed frustration over what they say is a lack of government effort to locate their son, who is believed to be held captive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
