An AFSK group company in Colombia has won a $27 million deal from Ecopetrol to supply control, computer, automation and communications systems to operate a crude oil transportation system. C. Mer restates Q1, Q2 reports due to errors

C. Mer Industries admits it has to restate its 2008 results because when it adopted international financial reporting standards, in place of Israeli ones, it messed up the currency exchange rates. So: its first-quarter net profit dropped NIS 2.6 million to NIS 28.1 million, and its second-quarter profit dropped NIS 0.6 million to NIS 6.1 million. The effect on its shareholders equity is negligible, the engineering company says. (TheMarker)

PMS Group says it has become embroiled in a dispute with Stayat Invest, which is selling it a Stockholm property called Freeharbor. The dispute is over which company should be bearing the cost of fixing up the property. Negotiations fell through and Stayat is refusing to pay the contractors, who are owed about NIS 9 million. PMS says it's working on a settlement with the builders while "taking steps" against Stayat. (TheMarker)

Ben-Zeev sees Q3 pain for the banks

Yuval Ben-Zeev of Clal Finance is a tad concerned that Israel's banks have suffered losses because they've invested, oh, about NIS 65 billion in corporate bonds and shares. The banks will be filing their third-quarter financials in the last week of November. Departing from his norm, in his review of the banks ahead of their reports, Ben-Zeev doesn't even try to estimate their results. The variables are too many and too great, but credit risk has spiraled up and asset prices have spiraled down. His bottom line is he wouldn't counsel investors to hare for their shares, despite the beating bank stocks have taken. (TheMarker)

His functions at the company will be shared by immediate subordinates until then. The Likud is led by Benjamin Netanyahu, former prime minister and finance minister. (TheMarker)

Wavion bringing WiFi to Nigerian outback

Elron also says that subsidiary Wavion has partnered with Emperion of Lagos, an Internet service provider, to create a nationwide Wi-Fi network in Nigeria. Wavion will deploy base stations throughout the country to deliver high-speed Internet access. Also, Safend, a California company in which Elron owns 27%, and the Vantage Group, a California-based security consultation firm and a Safend reseller, have signed a Master Purchase Agreement with Los Angeles County. The agreement gives the local government nice prices for Safend software. (TheMarker)
