Some 3,000 home fans were disgruntled by Sakhnin coach Freddy David, but club chair Hasan Abu Saleh defended him. "Freddy is not to blame and is not the problem," he said. "The players are to blame. They have no fight. We'll sit and decide tonight what steps to take." In Tel Aviv, Maccabi's free fall continued as the team fell to Ironi Kiryat Shmona 1-0. Head coach Ran Ben Shimon, who was booed by fans, told reporters after the game he was taking full responsibility. He added he would try to figure out why his team - which made a number of major acquisitions over the summer - is losing to weaker opponents.
