Despite the fact that his second term as mayor of New York City is coming to a close, Michael Bloomberg has never been more relevant.

The eighth richest man in America, who may be on his way to four more years in Gracie Mansion, enjoys high approval ratings from constituents who perceive him as financially savvy and down-to-earth, an image bolstered by the present crisis.

But the Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent is in danger of sacrificing some of that credibility, due to his campaign to change the law in order to enable him to run for a third term.
