As pension funds fall, even non-investors start to feel the heat

Israelis who don't believe themselves to be personally affected by plummeting global markets may soon find the crisis at their doorstep.

The economic crisis affects even those who refused to gamble as individuals in the stock market. In the United States alone, retirement funds have lost $2 trillion in the last year.

And while the numbers in Israel are not quite as alarming, pensions are certainly taking the heat for fallen stocks, with some losses reaching in double digits.
