Beitar Jerusalem's training grounds have recently been plastered with campaign posters for Russian-Israeli billionaire Arkady Gaydamak.

Activists for the tycoon's Jerusalem mayoral race also regularly swamp the capital's Teddy stadium, seeking to win over the football club's fans with free merchandise.

Municipal officials have visited the site to make sure that the activists don't enter the stadium.

The Israel Football Association has said the campaigning constituted a violation of regulations and that it would look into the matter.
