Gaydamak's Radio 99 unable to pay salaries By Gili Itzikovich, Haaretz Correspondent Tags: radio, Arcadi Gaydamak  Staff at Sharon-area station Radio 99 have not been paid for September, and station employees say broadcasts have been limited for the holidays - Sukkot will see only computerized broadcasts. "It's very worrisome," one radio host admitted. In early September it was reported that the station's owner, billionaire Arcadi Gaydamak, was planning to sell. Advertisement Shortly thereafter, manager Ram Landes and CEO Michelle Kramerman resigned. The owners of the radio station Radius 103, Eli Azur and Dudi Wiessman, announced they were buying Radio 99. During Gaydamak's tenure, several high-profile celebrities hosted shows on the station, allegedly for high salaries. "No one knows what's going on, and there are no answers because there are no managers to answer," one worker said. "We don't know if we will get salaries, and the system is running on inertia. Salaries have been a day or two late before, but this total uncertainty is new." Another staffer said, "Salaries have been late for the past four months, but this is out of control. Right now we don't know anything, but broadcasts for the weekend already have been canceled, and the station is manned by technicians and broadcast by computer." Many hosts have been put on forced leave during the holiday. "This is very worrisome - computerized broadcasts are not radio. No salaries and no broadcasts. This is a very worrying direction," a celebrity host said. Outgoing CEO Kramerman said in response, "Salaries will be paid tomorrow morning. During the holiday, appropriate music will be broadcast."
