Abramovich building mega-yacht with world-class security system
By Haaretz Service
Tags: Mega yachts, Chelsea

Russian-Jewish Oligarch and Chelsea Football club owner Roman Abramovich has ordered the world's largest yacht complete with an onboard defense system that would make any would-be pirate turn back and head for shore.

In addition to its anti-missile defense system, the $470 million 167-meter-long 'Eclipse' will be defended by a crew of 70 fully-armed former SAS and Special Boat Service commandos ready to take on any modern-day buccaneer.

Even if the mega-yacht's security measures are breached, Roman and another lucky guest can make their getaway in a submarine that can plunge to depths of 50m, though whether the yellow submarine has anti-torpedo defense systems has not been determined.

Abramovich also owns three other mega-yachts, though none of them are believed to have anything close to the on-board defense systems the 'Eclipse' will deploy.

Piracy is a serious worldwide problem, with hundreds of incidents reported in the last year alone, representing billions in losses, with several incidents of murder reported
