Einat Gonen, 36, from Herzliya was found on Wednesday by a helicopter sent by the Israeli Embassy in Ecuador's Podocarpus National Park. Gonen was reported missing on Monday.

Gonen was taken to a nearby military hospital for medical care where she was pronounced healthy.

Gonen was hiking with a man who reported her disappearance after the two separated during the hike and did not meet up again. Allegedly, Gonen got lot and strayed to another trail.

A joint Israeli rescue delegation made up of representatives from Harel Insurance Investments and the Foreign Ministry left on Wednesday to Ecuador in an attempt to find the missing Israeli tourist.

Before being found, she was last seen hiking in the Podocarpus National Park located in the south of the country and it is alleged she went missing after losing the trail.

The search for Gonen was met with much difficulty due to harsh weather conditions and a difficult terrain.

In the last few days, fifty locals and travelers had joined the search for Gonen. Gonen's father and brother together with the Israeli consulate in Quito also joined the search team.

Inbal Gonen, Einat's sister told Army Radio that Einat had left for a six-week trip in South America and had joined another male traveler several times. According to her sister, the main concern was the intense cold weather, sometimes reaching zero degrees Celsius.
