Mofaz supporters blame disqualified Rahat votes for loss to Livni
By Haaretz Staff and Channel 10
Tags: Kadima, Rahat, Shaul Mofaz

Supporters of Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz were furious on Thursday, claiming that disorderly conduct at the ballot box in the Bedouin city of Rahat had blocked their candidate from the Kadima leadership.

Mofaz lost the race to replace outgoing prime minister Ehud Olmert to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who beat him by only 431 votes.

ut the ballots cast in Rahat, which are believed to have represented roughly 430 votes, were disqualified after political activists threw the ballot box out the window.
