Rose's mother heckled by French onlookers, then collapses in Ramle court
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

Marie-Charlotte Renault, the mother of four-year-old Rose Pizem, whose remains were recovered from Tel Aviv's Yarkon River by police divers earlier this month, collapsed in the Ramle Magistrate Court on Thursday.

The 24-year-old woman - who is a suspect in the girl's death, along with her father-in-law with whom she carried on an intimate relationship - lost consciousness after being bombarded with questions from reporters prior to her hearing on an extended stay in custody.

A crowd of mostly French-speaking onlookers arrived at the court house and shouted accusations at her suggesting she abandoned her daughter and that her behavior led to Rose's death.

Renault said she no longer loves Ronny Ron, the father-in-law who is suspected of murdering his granddaughter, and that she would like to attend her daugher's funeral, which is expected to take place in France.

Earlier on Thursday, Ron's remand was extended five days after his attorney, Gili Friedman, agreed to the move on condition that prosecutors serve an indictment by the end of the latest period in custody.
