Stepfather, father suspected of raping mentally disabled teen

Police have arrested a Holon resident on suspicion of having raped his mentally disabled daughter, 17, who has also believed to have been raped by her stepfather.

Officials brought the suspect, 45, to Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday for a remand extension. Police arrested him after his daughter told a support group for victims of sexual abuse that he had raped her, and a medical check verified her complaint.

The 17-year-old had apparently made similar charges to police a number of months ago, although then they did not find enough evidence to make an arrest.

The teenager's stepfather is currently under arrest for raping the teenager a few months ago, an assault which resulted in her impregnation. She later had an abortion after six months.

While the stepfather initially denied having raped the 17-year-old, a medical check following the abortion proved that the girl was telling the truth.
