Beijing 2008 / Israeli claims silver By Rami Hipsh Israel's Inbal Pezaro yesterday earned a silver medal in the women's 100-meter freestyle on the opening day of the Beijing 2008 Paralympics. The swimmer finished with a time of 1:12.57, setting an Israeli national record. In other action yesterday, the men's wheelchair basketball team took on the U.S. Leading by as much as 28 points, the U.S. dominated Israel 76-53 in a pool B preliminary game held at the National Indoor Stadium. Israel hit only 33 percent of its field goal attempts and 36 percent of its two-point shots, and 13 turnovers proved costly. Israeli forward Dotan Meishar led the game with 27 points and 17 rebounds.
