VIDEO / IDF offers amnesty to Israelis hoarding army weapons

A new military operation is giving the many Israeli citizens unlawfully hoarding weapons in their homes an opportunity to return them without facing charges.

Because such a large percentage of the population has served in the Israel Defense Forces, many ordinarily citizens, at some point, have enjoyed open access to a variety of some of the world's most advanced weaponry.

he IDF is giving citizens three weeks to return weapons they have illegally taken, assuring that within that period, no questions will be asked and anonymity will be guaranteed.

The response has been overwhelming, and some of the items returned have raised more than one set of eyebrows.
