VIDEO / NBA's finest train women basketball hopefuls in East Jerusalem

A basketball court in Jabel Mukaber was the site of an unlikely encounter last week between two very disparate demographics.

Palestinian girls from the East Jerusalem neighborhood trained with basketball coaches from the NBA, who visited Israel and the Palestinian Territories in order to give children an opportunity made rare by political and cultural restrictions.

owever, as is so often the case for girls from traditional backgrounds, visible participation in physical activity generally reserved for their male peers rubs many in the community the wrong way.
