SAP founder, Agassi venture capital fund investing in Israel
By Guy Griml
Tags: venture capital, Israel

Venture capital fund Hasso Plattner Ventures is investing $4 million in Israeli startup InnovaShare, along with the fund Israeli Cedar.

This is the German fund's first Israeli investment, even though the fund's CEO is an Israeli, Eran Davidson. Hasso Plattner was a co-founder and chairman of German software giant SAP.

This is only the fund's 11th investment in all. Shai Agassi and Arnon Katz are also investors in the fund.

InnovaShare was founded by Benny Shaviv and Guy Alroy in 2007 and is developing product life management software for small and medium-sized businesses, based on a model of selling the software as a service. So far,the two founders are the only employees, but the two are now hiring a development team. Shaviv declined to discuss the company's software in detail, but said it meets a clear need for businesses.

The initial product is in a pilot stage and is not yet installed for any customers.
