Three teenage boys were arrested Monday on suspicion they raped and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in a public park in Herzliyah.

Police opened the investigation after the alleged victim issued a complaint that she had been sexually assaulted while she went to visit a group of friends at the Herzliyah Sportek.

Police say the suspect said she was somewhat acquainted with a number of the boys in the group, and that after they met up at the Sportek, her and three of the boys continued on to a public park in the city.

According to the victim's complaint, the boy coerced her to drink and after they were confident that she was intoxicated, raped her.

The three suspects will be taken to a Tel Aviv juvenile court on Wednesday for a remand hearing.

21-year-old woman says was raped by a group of men at Lake Kinneret

Last week, a 21-year-old woman told police she was raped by a group of men on the shores of Lake Kinneret.

The complainant said she met a group of men late at night on one of the lake's beaches and spent several hours drinking with them on the beach. When she woke up in the morning, she suspected she had been raped and issued a complaint to police.

Police did not find traces of any "date rape drugs" but do believe that the complainant was plied by the suspects with alcohol until she lost consciousness, at which point the sexual assault took place
