Barak notifies comptroller: My wife's firm is officially closed
By Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Ehud Barak, Israel

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday informed the state comptroller that his wife has officially closed down her PR consulting firm, Taurus, and that he intends to cooperate if further information on the company is requested.

Barak's wife, Nili Priel, decided to close Taurus only a few months after launching it following the wave of criticism evoked by the enterprise.

Channel 10's report of the company's existence triggered criticism that Priel was using her husband's connections and position to advance her business.

The report showed a document issued by Taurus, describing Priel's ability to mediate between foreign investors and Israeli decision makers.

"There are 800-900 senior decision makers in Israel. Mrs. Priel knows most of them personally," it said.
