Olmert to be questioned under caution for sixth time
By Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent
Tags: Ehud Olmert, police

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be questioned under caution on Friday, for the sixth time in several weeks.

National Fraud Squad detectives will arrive at the premier's official Jerusalem residence at 10 A.M.

Police refused to comment on the subjects to be discussed, but for the first time in this series of questionings, they are expected to ask about other affairs, such as the purchase of his Cremieux Street home, as well as alleged political appointments at the Investment Center and the Small Business Authority. Until now, investigators have concentrated on the Olmertours and cash envelopes affairs.

Police and the prosecution believe indictments on those two affairs are possible in the next few weeks. In recent interrogations, police surprised Olmert by presenting the evidence against him, which had not been revealed in the press.

In contrast, the other suspicions involving Olmert were revealed in the press before he testified, which police believe helped him prepare.

Law enforcement officials involved in Olmert's interrogations claimed recently that the prime minister did not refute various suspicions in the interrogations and entangled himself with comments about cash from U.S. businessman Morris Talansky that was not properly reported, and plane tickets for family members.
