Students from fast-growing green school system lead drive to recycle

While other children of the same age are spending small fortunes on back-to-school supplies and clothes, the students of Israel's fast-growing green school system have other concerns in mind.

The Environmental Protection Ministry authorized 56 Green Schools in 2008, bringing the total number of such schools in Israel to 150. Considering there were only seven authorized green schools four years ago, that number marks remarkable growth.

And with consumer costs rising and the future of the planet looking increasingly bleak, we could all benefit from listening to these students.
