Celltick providing content to Olympics
By Guy Griml
Tags: China, Beijing Olympics

China's second-biggest cellular service provider, Unicom, has chosen Celltick technology to market cellular content to users during (and after) the Olympic Games, the Israeli company said yesterday.

China Unicom will be using Celltick's flagship technology, LiveScreen Media, as a content management platform and to manage cellular advertising. Service, supported in Chinese and English, will include news flashes on the Games, real-time results, news flashes when records are broken, solicitation to watch video clips by phone, trivia games and the like.

The Unicom cellular offering based on the Celltick platform will also include general news, plus items on lifestyle, entertainment, economics and advertising. How big is the contract? Well, Israel's population is say seven-plus million people, and China Unicom's subscriber base is say 180-plus million people.
