VIDEO / Border Policeman held over Palestinian boy's death in Na'alin

Military police on Sunday arrested a Border Police officer suspected in the death of a Palestinian boy last week in the West Bank town of Na'alin.

Ahmed Moussa, 10, was killed by a gunshot to the forehead during a protest against the separation fence being constructed in the town.

The officer suspected in the incident was interrogated by the Samarian and Judean Military Police and was released to house arrest for five days.

Police began investigating the incident after a joint Israel Defense Forces and Border Police probe found that the boy had been killed by Israeli security forces who opened fire to disperse the crowd of protesters.

The initial investigation, begun just hours after the event, found that the boy died from a live round fired by Israeli troops.

The troops had fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse demonstrators trying to scale the fence.

A Palestinian autopsy showed the boy had been shot with live ammunition through the head at close range, officials said. Witnesses said the victim was among a group watching Israeli bulldozers at work on the barrier.
