Assaf Chakim, 23, an Israeli youth traveling in South America was killed on Thursday when two buses collided in Ica, Peru.

The Foreign Ministry has notified the Chakim family, residents of Ma'aleh Adumim. His body will be sent to Lima on Friday evening and is due to arrive in Israel on Saturday.

Six other people were killed in the accident.

In the last two weeks, three other Israelis have been killed in accidents abroad. Carmiel resident Dina Housha, 49, was killed in a road accident in India; Michal Elboim, 24, of Hod Hasharon was killed in a boating accident off the coast of Florida; and Israel Air Force officer Avner Bardugo, 25, of Ramat Yishai, was killed in a rafting accident in Laos.

Israeli tourist Tomer Ahuan, 23, was reported missing in Peru earlier this month after he reportedly fell from his boat during a rafting expedition in the Apurimac River in Peru. His fate is still unclear.

In May of this year, the body Tamar Shahak, 22 was found in the southern Peruvian city of Aricifa after an apparent assault in which two people were arrested.

Just a few days before Shahak's death, five other Israelis were killed in a jeep collision in the southwestern Bolivian town of Uyun
