Hebron settlers set up outpost on grounds of IDF base

Soldiers of a Golani Brigade Company at the Mitkanim base next to the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in the West Bank city of Hebron have found six trailers within their base, full of residents of the Hebron Jewish Community, enjoying all the services offered by the military facility.

An overhead shot of the base shows at the top a military outpost and command center, and at the bottom, the trailers for the families complete with yards for their children to play in.

The Peace Now movement has issued a petition to the High Court of Justice demanding the head of the General Command explain the situation in the Hebron Golani Base.

The IDF issued a response saying the residential allotment was approved by the relevant authorities, but the High Court has called on the state to remove the settlement.

Regardless of what the fate of the trailer park in the Golani base turns out to be, in the meantime, for the children living there, home is where the army is.
