VIDEO / Volunteers scour Tel Aviv for old photos and unearth historical gems
By Haaretz Staff and Channel 10
Tags: Photography, Tel Aviv, Israel
Haaretz.com/Channel 10 daily feature for July 24, 2008.

Everywhere in Tel Aviv, there are signs of development and change. Luxury skyscrapers are popping up in neighborhoods across the city, older buildings are getting face lifts, and main thoroughfares are undergoing reconstruction.

The city is looking to the future as it prepares to celebrate 100 years since its founding in 1909.

But many volunteers are also taking the opportunity of the 100th anniversary to turn an eye to the past. And they are unearthing hidden photographic gems from Tel Aviv's bygone eras.
