Well-known singer held after gun battle outside gambling club
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

Police have arrested a well-known singer on suspicion of involvement in an early Tuesday gun battle outside a Rishon Letzion gambling club, where a woman, 55, was caught in the cross-fire and lightly wounded.

Two other men were arrested as suspects in the shooting.

The singer's identity has been withheld.

Police were summoned to the club in the pre-dawn hours after reports of gunfire in the area. They found the woman, a Bat Yam resident, wounded in the shoulder.

An initial investigation indicated that as she left the club, she was caught in a gun battle taking place outside, apparently between men engaged in the illegal gambling trade. She was taken to Assaf Harofeh medical center in Serifin for treatment.
