On "Obama asked to explain after his minister 'damns' America"
This letter refers to Obama asked to explain after his minister 'damns' America
I used to believe that you just hated Hillary. While that likely plays a role in your laudatory coverage of Barack Obama, I now believe you are, in fact, terrified of being accused of saying anything racially insensitive.
There is no other explanation for the kid-glove treatment that you give him. I find "no reason to believe," that there's "every reason to believe," that he doesn't share the views of his vile Pastor. You can't know a religious leader, your religious leader, who gives sermon's every week, and not know his vile, hate-mongering views.
My biggest curiosity now is to know whether there's any light between Barack and Michelle, because it's now crystal clear why Michelle has never been very proud of her country before. She's been listening every week to explanations of why the US is so evil--because "We supported state terrorism against the Palestinians," of course, and because we invented the Aids virus to kill off people of color.
Does he listen to football on earphones while she listens to the sermons? I think you can only make the assumption that he knew and in many ways agreed, as long as he doesn't denounce the man and quite the church where the other congregants obviously agree with Jeremiah Wright.
Shame on you for being so fearful that you don't do your journalistic duty.
