On "Jewish organizations to Obama's defense"

This letter refers to Jewish organizations to Obama's defense

Dear Mr. Rosner,

I read the statement of the Zionist organizations "defending" Barack
Obama. What exactly is the "innuendo" with which he is being smeared?
As far as I understand it is that he is "secretly" a Muslim. Nobody,
not Obama and not these Zionist organizations have pointed out the
bigotry in the denials. Can you imagine if a candidate was accused of
"secretly" being a Jew and he and everyone else rushed to promise us
he is a Christian? People would correctly perceive the anti-Semitism
in such denials.

Why cannot Obama just say: "I do not happen to be a Muslim, but if I
were it would be no shame, and no reason to hate me or exclude me?"
Obama lacks the moral courage to make such a statement and instead
offers assurances that he is a Christian. It is because Obama
understands that Muslims are hated in America and needs to dissociate
himself from them.

And of course none of the Zionist organizations bothered to point out
that the nature of the innuendo is based on hatred of Muslims, not
hatred of Obama.

At the same time, to discover a long lost Jewish relative is a
positive asset. Do not be surprised if very soon we discover that
Obama is Jewish, or perhaps his third cousin in Kansas was once
married to a Jew.

Yours

Ali Abunimah
