Wife's lover stabs spurned husband after being caught in act

The Acre police arrested a resident of the North on Monday, under suspicion that he stabbed the spurned husband of his lover.

Acre police chief said that a 23-year-old married man who works in construction left for work at 5 a.m only to return home and hour a later after forgetting some tools at home.

When he came back home, the husband was shocked to see his 21-year-old wife in bed with her 24-year-old lover. An argument broke out between the husband and the stranger he had found in his bed which ended, surprisingly enough, with the lover stabbing the husband in the face and running from the scene.

The injured husband was taken to the hospital in Nahriyah where he received a phone call from the lover who threatened that he would come to the hospital and "seal the deal."

Police placed a guard outside the husband's room and when the lover arrived at the hospital he was arrested.

The remand of the lover, who was not familiar to police, was extended by Acre district court by five days.
