In an ideal world, everyone would see that our cause is just. We are nice people (mostly) and for 2000 years we just wanted our home back. But 2000 years of anti-semitism cannot be changed in 60 years. It takes time, dialogue and making friends that have the similar views of human rights (including womens), peace and democracy. We in the democracy camp are not perfect, but I would rather live in this one than the dark alternatives.
So going to meet with Blair is a chance to develop this dialogue, become friends and perhaps wins some support. It is worth trying. You never know there may be some leaders that really value human rights more than the profit from oil? |
