Maybe if the Arabs/Palestinians made unified statements that they no longer considered the Jewish people their enemies and that they no longer want to kill them, Israelis might get warm fuzzy feelings about them.
Most Israelis have no problems with Arabs and are taught in school to respect everyone, but they might have just reached a point where they are sick and tired of the situation.
They have tried to improve the situation, but are of the opinion that even if they give the Arabs, particularly the Palestinians heaven, they will only get hell in return.
I would be pretty apathetic too, and yes, especially now that Hamas has been voted in, I might be getting a tad paranoid, and might feel a little uncomfortable with having people in my building who might just want to destroy me and my family. |
