In the days when there were Litvaks aka Jews from Lithuania it was said that they all "knew something". Not only that, but they understood what they knew and even when they were "not so Observant" they knew enough about what they weren`t observing, and had the good sense not to make waves when issues of Observance were raised in the Community.

You, see Mr. Pfeffer, in "Golus" as they called it, Jews do best when they present a common front in the face of non-Jews. Even when you disagree, you keep still, honor the Religious leaders, and eventually the non-Jews will back down.

Pluralism is one of those myths that Enlightened Jews use to find ways of rushing to the top of the pole and say they "know better".

When Ahab ruled the Kingdom of Israel there were no losses in any of his military campaigns whereas King David suffered many. Our sages explain that even though Abab was wicked we were united or as the Litvaks called it, Akhdus. T`would seem God prefers Akhdus, no?
