I am a Principal at a Jewish Girl school in Melbourne Australia. Beth Rivkah Ladies College is one of a network of schools established by the Lubavitch Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson OBM.
There are 700 girls. Only about 35% are from Lubavitch families. Another 20% are from other Shomrei Shabat families. The rest are from families who are traditional or secular Jews.
The girls are NOT segregated according to their religious observance. In fact, we do not have a streaming system except for Ivrit and sometimes in Maths.
Our teachers of secular subjects are mostly Jewish but we also have some non-Jewish teachers. In fact, my Deputy Principal is a non Jew. The teachers of Jewish Studies are mostly female, of various ages, some young, in their 20`s and some older.
The students relate to their teachers the same to the Jewish Studies as well as to the teachers of secular subjects. The accademic standard of the school is amongst the 5 top schools in the state.
