docking at a port in Israel after being given permission by a foreign power to use the Suez Canal does not mean Israel`s strategic reach is increasing.
It means that Israel can visit all ports in it`s country with the permission of Egypt.
Now if they had cruised up the meditteranean turned right at Gibralter and travelled around the continent of Africa then thats a projection of power (I would presume the german made dolphin class submarine is armed with US made cruise missiles) An independent second strike dependent on the good will of the Egyptians does not increase Israels strategic reach. It comes knowhere near. |
