| All, Anyone who reads my posts knows that I have expressed support for Obama from a pro-Israel point of view. However, I really feel that he blew it. If Solow called this meeting and Obama made time to see the real Jewish leadership (as opposed to the pro-Hamas crowd at J-Street), his advisors must have told him that his support among Jewish American Democrats is collapsing. You won`t hear it here since Yaacov Sullivan and his ilk don`t represent anyone but a few new Left Stalinists. However, Obama had a chance to sell his peace and, apparently, chose not to. It appears to most US Jews that he has been using this settlement tiff to push his popularity among the world`s Muslims. The only thing he has accomplished is to persuade the Pals to stop negotiating with Israel until they get free concessions. Telling the real Jewish Community to jump in the lake is a big mistake. The Republicans are desperate to forge an alliance between evangelicals and Jews. (more) |
